 Our Paediatric Dentists

Dr Marilyn Lobo

Specialist Paediatric Dentist

BDSC (WA), DDS (MD), Cert Ped Dent (MD) Diplomat, American Board of Paediatric Dentistry

Dr Marilyn completed her dental training at the University of Western Australia. After working in WA, Dr Marilyn moved to the USA. She completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry and her Specialist Paediatric Dentistry training at the University of Maryland. She then enjoyed private practice in Phoenix, Arizona.

Dr Marilyn returned to Perth in 2011 to become the principal Paediatric Dentist at Prime Children’s Dental Care. She is active in continuing education and sharing knowledge with dental colleagues about paediatric oral health. Dr Marilyn is passionate about creating the best dental experience possible for her patients and their families. She regularly donates her time and talents to charitable works within the dental and greater community.

Outside of dentistry, she is busy with her husband, three children and two dogs. Like most mums, there really isn’t much time for anything else! Just kidding! She does love a good puzzle, a well-behaved plant and travelling to experience new sights, cultures and foods.

With her passion for dental education and community she has been involved in teaching at the University of Western Australia, regularly presents at dental conferences and provides after-hours emergency dental care via the Perth Children's Hospital. Dr Nandy loves creating the best possible dental experiences for children and their families and believes that dentistry should be fun for all of us!

Outside of work, Dr Nandy loves Bluey, Beyoncé and baking. On her days off she loves spending time with her husband and doing fun fitness in her activewear!

Dr Susan Wong

Specialist Paediatric Dentist

BDS (Otago), DClinDent (UWA), MRACDS (Paed Dent)

Dr Susan qualified as a dentist in Otago, New Zealand, then moved to Singapore where she worked for seven years as a general dentist.

During this time, Susan developed a love for treating children, in particular those with additional needs. This led her to pursue further studies in Paediatric Dentistry at the University of Western Australia.  She then spent a further 18 months as Senior Registrar at the Princess Margaret Hospital for Children. Susan is currently a visiting Consultant at Perth Children’s Hospital where she assists in providing after-hours emergency services.

Susan also regularly volunteers in overseas dental mission trips providing dental services to the underprivileged. She is a member of multiple professional dental societies and is a past president of the Dental Specialists Society of Western Australia.

Fun facts: Susan loves to bake, travel and a good workout in the gym.

Dr Carrie Tsai

Specialist Paediatric Dentist

BA (Berkeley) DMD MPH (Harvard) PGCertPaedDent (UCSF)

Dr Carrie completed her dental training at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 2010. Seeking a more in-depth understanding of how to address health issues at a population level, she extended her degree by a year to earn an MPH at the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr Carrie went on to pursue her Specialist Paediatric Dentistry training at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where she was concurrently accepted into the UCSF Global Clinical Scholars Program. She went on to work in private practice in Seattle, Washington for a year before moving overseas.

Dr Carrie arrived in Australia from the United States of America in 2014, originally planning to stay only 2 years. However, she and her family are settled, embracing the Aussie way of life, and are here to stay. Since moving to Australia, Dr Carrie has practised at the Departments of Paediatric Dentistry at Westmead Centre for Oral Health and Sydney Dental Hospital and in private practice in the Sydney area. For nearly 10 years, she has also been actively involved with teaching, curriculum development, and mentoring research for dental students. Dr Carrie is embracing her family’s relocation to WA, where the relaxed way of life and sunsets over the ocean remind her of her California upbringing.

As a specialist paediatric dentist, she is passionate about instilling positive feelings around the dental experience for children that will last a lifetime. Outside of dentistry, Dr Carrie enjoys staying active through swimming, cycling and running (sometimes combining in formal triathlons!), swing dancing, as well as jamming on the ukulele with her two young boys.
